1980661914first name on monumentIris Kerton disapeared one Sunday whilsy walking with my grandfather, Frank. They went to the loo adn when he came out of the loo, she was gone. There was an extensive search and the story was covered both by the local paper and also the local TV. Sadly she was found washed up at Elberry Cove about a week later. It was all very very sad. She had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and it was thought she perhaps came out of the loo adn didnt know where/who she was.

Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Iris Kerton was my maternal grandmother. None of my family visit graveyards and I would like an image of the gravestone so that my children will know where their great grandparents are burried should they be interested in their later lives.
(requested on 05 05 2012)
This is the first time I have seen my grandparents grave as it is in Devon and I live in Yorkshire. I was only fourteen when Grandma went missing and I remember my Dad going to Devon to help with the search. It was a very stressful time for all of us, but I still had to go to school; I was continually teased and with all this going on I just lost my rag and then just burst into tears. They left me alone for a while after that. Any way, I would be very grateful if you could forward me an enhanced image of the grave because I cannot see myself ever being able to visit Devon again. Thank you.
