Her mother was the daughter of Laurence Porter Esq. of Chertsey, Surrey, a wealthy brewer and substantial property owner who left her a substantial legacy as did her brother, William Sutton Porter. Her mother's sister, Althea Porter married John Latham (1769-1882), the son of Dr John Latham (1740-1837), a member of the Royal Society. |
