(requested on 13 10 2013)
John Brown-King was my 1st cousin 2 x removed and was killed in some of the earliest action of WWI. I also have other cousins who would be interested.
(requested on 22 10 2013)
He is my great uncle and I am named after him.
(requested on 22 10 2014)
john brown king is remembered in the church beside where I live, but I along with a few other people feel john deserve a blue plaque, as he is a man that is remembered in a letter written to his father stating he fired first shot. Sadly apart from the memorial inside the church, there is little to remember him, so we are tidying up the family grave, getting letters out to schools, councillors, anyone that can help us get a blue plaque put up to remember a hero. If any family members would like to get in touch and be updated in are search. Please get in touch.
