There is much more information, about his War records on my family tree,on Ancestry.com. He died,12th May 1917, in Flanders, France & was awarded 3 War medals. They were given to, his Wife Kathleen Isabel nee Duff. She was left to bring up 3 children, Helen Maxtone,Bn; 1813, John Mextone, Bn;1815, & Jane Maxtone, Bn; 1817.John & Jane Maxtone, died on the same day, 10 ? Sept 1960,aged, 66 years,on the grave. They would have been, 53, & 55 years, from, the dates of birth,of next of kin on pension docments from the war office.They are also, as John & Jane Maxtone at the bottom of ths monument.
