Probably distant relationship to Haxby Dougill Ingleby, my 6th great-grandparents being George Dowgill (or Dougill) and Mary Haxby. Haxby Dougill Ingleby's mother was Rebecca Dougill.

Family research. My paternal grandmother was a Dowgill from Leeds. Many of the men in her family were stonemasons. There are also Dowgill/Dougill stonemasons from Pateley Bridge. I am trying to discover a link between these two families.

Haxby Dougill (1752-1795) was my 6th great uncle. His parents, George Dougill and Mary Haxby were my 6th great-grandparents. Their daughter Mary married Francis Reynard and their daughter grace married Thomas Atkinson. My grandmother was Gladys Atkinson, great-granddaughter of Thomas by his second wife Mary Wilson. Her grandfather was their son Wilson Atkinson, who married Hannah Elizabeth Marshall. Her parents were Samuel Ernest Holdsworth Atkinson and Agnes Thornton.
