POYSER Family Research: Elizabeth Newson is the daughter of Thomas Poyser and Ann Hodgkinson. She married John Newson in Marylebone, Middlesex, England on 30 May 1841. Elizabeth and John's daughter, Elizabeth Esther (born Dec 1863 and was bapt 14 Feb 1864), married Nimrod Armitage Barrett in St James Enfield on 08 Dec 1884. They had two sons, George Armitage (born 18 Jan 1887) and Matthew John (born 08 Mar 1892). Elizabeth Esther died only a couple of weeks after the birth of her son Matthew John. She was buried on 22 Mar 1892. Both sons moved to New Zealand in early 1911. Both signed up when WW1 broke out. George was killed in France on 28 Mar 1918 while Matthew survived and continued to make a life for himself in New Zealand. He died in 1969.
