Panel Reference Panel 14 to 17 and 162 to 162A. Memorial TYNE COT MEMORIAL Additional Information: Son of Maggie Ann Bailey (formerly Chilvers), of Tower End, Middleton, King's Lynn, Norfolk and the late Charles Daniel Chilvers Historical Information The Tyne Cot Memorial is one of four memorials to the missing in Belgian Flanders which cover the area known as the Ypres Salient. Broadly speaking, the Salient stretched from Langemarck in the north to the northern edge in Ploegsteert Wood in the south, but it varied in area and shape throughout the war. Go to Queens West Surrey Regiment 10th Battalion and follow links to War Diaries. There is an entry for 8/9 April 1918 showing 3 other ranks missing so this is a high probability, Frederick Chalres. I have othe information about his family if you are interested. | |||
