What a wonderful resource of information you have. I will keep checking through to see if I can find anymore of my dad's relatives. Thanks so much again. METCALFHelpful photosThis site was very helpful and it is gratifying to see the actual gravestone of my ancestor. Living in Canada, it is not viable for me to go to the graveyards in England to do this research. I truly appreciate the volunteers who have spent so much of their time making it easier of others to track the details of their ancestors' final resting place. Many thanks, Rosemary P

RITCHIEThe Reverend David Ritchie 1762 to 1844 Being able to view the Gravestone of the Reverend Ritchie will no doubt help no end in a linked search. I am also very impressed at the speed in which my request has been processed. There is so much more to looking at an old or ancient monumental description. I have in the past found it to be a kind of trigger and on one occasion at least when I found that there was no marker at all in a cemetery the unexpected happened. The ancestor at that time wasn't even one of mine, just someone that I had been asked to help find in Australia by someone else in England. Within the week that ancestor's grand-daughter walked into our office and in only a few moments I not only learned who she was but every vital detail about her grand-father. Two months later the grand-daughter was able to call on and see her long lost cousin in Yorkshire. Never give up, Malcolm Hutton

A Great ResourceWhat a great resource. As the sole administrator of a free-to-use website myself I know just how much work can be required to keep the site up to date and to respond to queries in a timely manner.

REDDReddThank you very much for the photo of Mary Jane Besley's grave at St Decumans Church, Watchet, Somerset. She is my first cousin, 3 times removed. The grave also lists my great great great aunt, Mary and her husband John Besley. Two of their other children (also my distant cousins) are listed on the same gravestone. This has helped me confirm dates of death and ages. Many thanks.

WEBSTERCopyright Hi Charles Thanks very much for the efforts in establishing the gravestone photographic system I have just one comment to make in regards copyright restrictions that you have attached to the photos. Some years ago I used to subscribe to an obscure magazine called Traction and Models. That magazine had a motto that lives with me to this very day 'information is of no use unless it is shared with others'. I would like you to think about this motto and reflect on your decision to apply copyright to the photos in your system. Regards Jim .... more
