Ruth Ellen ROSE was born in Gainsborough, Lincs. Ruth married William SLOGROVE b 1844 Ashdon, ESX in 1871 in Merstham. He died during WWI in 1915, having been a gardener, domestic servant and owned /ran a green grocery, grocery and pub in Merstham. Ruth died on 31 March 1936 in Strood, Kent at the home of a relative. She was buried on 4 April 1936. Probate of her Will was granted to her son in law on 22 May 1936. They lost a son, William John SLOGROVE, and a grandson, William George SLOGROVE, both on active service, in 1918 in World War I. The names , Ruth, Ellen and Rose have been passed down through several generations of descendants. William and Ruth had 6 children. There are many living descendants.
