Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am tracing my family tree, my mothers maiden name was Esther Sandison. I have discovered that my Great grandfather James Sandison was born in Wick in 1856, he married an Agnes Croughan in Edinburgh in 1878. My line of the family have been in Edinburgh since then, I think! David Sandison was the brother of my Great Great Grandfather John who married Jane Dunnet in 1855. I have traced back to a John Sandison who married Helen Simpson in 1774. I think my details are correct however I have relied heavily upon the good people who put information on line, for their help and yours I am truly grateful.
