St Mary's Church burial ground, Goudhurst
This churchyard contains fine 18th century gravestones many of which are eroded and only partly legible. In many cases it has been possible to identify the gravestone on the survey undertaken by Leland L. Duncan in 1923, the inscriptions of which are published on the Kent Archaeological Society website at http://www.kentarchaeology.org.uk/Research/Libr/MIs/MIsGoudhurst/01.htm. The 1923 survey has been used to fill in some details which are now too weathered to read. In a few instances the 1923 survey proved to be incorrect and so there is not a complete correlation between the index below and the KAS website. Anyone who wants a complete transcription of the gravestone will find it on the KAS website. Only the upper churchyard containing mostly pre 1930 graves, together with monuments inside the church, have been photographed.
