Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

Margaret is my 2nd Great Grandmother. Hurdman Wilkinson was her step father, he married her mother Betty Smethurst after her father died. There is a great deal of mystery surrounding Margaret who was a single mother. She was supposedly in maid to the 6th Earl of Egmont, but I am unable to finad any evidence of this in the records. Hurdman Wilkinson was the Earls coachman. Thanks.

Margaret Mellows is a direct descendant of mine. She was the mother of my great great grandfather, Samuel Mellows, and lived with or was taken care of by Mr Hurdman Wilkinson, who is mentioned on the gravestone.
