Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am doing research into the history of the Edinburgh Veterinary Medical Society for my local vet, he has a very old certificate pertaining to the above society and William Dick was one of the founders, at the present time I am putting all my findings together and I would like to include the photo of his grave/headstone as well.

I am interested in seeing the graves of famous people. I have looked for William Dick's grave in New calton without success and am hoping that seeing this image may help me to find it. I think that you have an amazing sight here.

Family research has shown us to be direct descendants of William Dick and - love the coincidence - I've just started working at the old Dick Vet, now Summerhall. I was intruiged to find out more about him and this page came up, I like the idea of being able to visit his burial place. Thankyou in advance! 😊

This is the link I have been looking for my grandmother always said that her mother Elspet Anderson was related to William Dick of Vet college fame, I married a vet. This proves the link although quite obscure. William was the cousin of 5X grandfather!
