Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

John Fairley was my grandmothers elder brother. My grandmother's name was Catherine (Katie) Donaldson nee Phair. John Fairley was born to my great grandmother 1st husband and my granny was born to her 2nd husband. From what I remember John was killed whilst travelling back on a red cross boat during WWII.
