Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

My great grandmother was Emma Wood daughter of The Reverent Sir John Wood. Emma married my Dutch great grandfather Jacob van Braam who was a Dutch Lord. (Jonkeer) Hence Sir Mathew Wood was my Great Great Great Grandfather.Sir Mathew was from the same family.jacob van Braam suffered from victorian xenophobia of the English. He had one son with my great grandfather although Jacob separated and I believe he had another family using the English version of Jacob James and dropped the van. There was considerable antagonism against the Dutch because of the Boar War in south Africa. I am a writer and poet and researching my ancestors with the intention of writing a fiction novel based on the non fiction facts. Best wishes, Dorian van Braam

I am doing research on the Winter-Wood family especially Edith his daughter and Lilian his granddaughter. When we are in the area we will visit this historical church and make a contribution to its upkeep. Thanks.
