Reasons why the image for this memorial was requested

I am a PhD student at Edinburgh University researching the influence of women gardeners in Scotland in the 19th century. Frances Jane Hope gardened at Wardie Lodge in Edinburgh and was the granddaughter of Dr John Hope FRS.
