We can all do something to help After receiving a few pictures of graves of distant relatives I decided to be come a volunteer
in my local area and its become a very interesting hobby lots of Badly Decaying Gravestones and very modern gravestones not so much of a use now but I look at it as a foundation for the future people in 50- 100 years time look back and think I'm glad they took those pictures oh so long ago when they were new.
So all I am asking is for you to spend a summers afternoon in the local grave yard snapping away

Amen! I am a seventeen year old, holsechoomed girl who has been raised both as a Christian and a Confederate (one of my brothers is named William Stonewall Jackson), and not much makes me madder than Yankees who want to destroy our heritage from the face of the earth, and make us ashamed of the Confederacy. Thanks for writing

THoughtful and helpful What help and and a good photo I received to my philatelic enquiry. THe emails wre prompt and courteous and the photo was kindly sent within a day or two. How refreshing for someone to offer such as this and as promised.
Many thanks indeed
Suggestion to reduce incorrect email address To reduce the occurance of incorrect email addresses being entered, you could have a second 'email verification' field. The form would only accept the request if the email address was entered correctly twice. This is a pretty common technique used on websites.
I did initial have two email fields as you have suggested but found that people were just pasting the incorrect address from one field to the next! I also received so many negative comments that I decided to reverted to using just one.
I see that an individual request is now asked for regarding I see that an individual request is now asked for regarding each image to view. I feel that if they were all available to anyone, that it would be a much more useful thing, as the spelling of surnames is a bit ideosycnratic, and the person doing the name research may have a different spelling to that which you have been able to extract from the stone itself. Is there any intention to go public with all images, at all?
Thanks
Adrian McTiernan

wonderful points uggs uk altogether, you simply won a brand new reader. The UGG look perfect and are also very warm; they can be a gift for my daughter for Christmas! We have heard outright great things about them and also the company who sent them packed the UGG carefully plus they arrived promptly! Good purchase! cheap uggs , What would you suggest in regards to your publish that you simply made a few days ago? Any positive?
I am really impressed with your uggs writing skills as well as with the format in your blog. Had counterfeits and nothing compares to the real thing. Excellent construction. Anyway keep up the excellent high quality writing, it is uncommon to look a great blog like this one these days..

Church Location Details correction I believe that you have a church wrongly listed.
Your records show:
All Saints's Church
Herefordshire (Cemetery 1410)
the Church Photograph you have is of:
All Saints's Church
HERTFORD, HERTFORDSHIRE
Common mistake as many people confuse Hereford and Hertford. I was raised in Hertford and attended the Church.

Spreadsheet link problem Hi Charles, I've been reading through your Volunteer information & found that the page to access a blank spreadsheet comes up as non existent. I would like to volunteer to photograph & record The 'Ipswich General Cemetery' Queensland, Aus. but could see nowhere to actually sign up. Thank you for the photo Thank you for the photo of the Memorial, it was of the great, great grandparents of my friend, neither of us can physically travel far and would otherwise never have been able to have any photographs or details of the family graves, we are both extremely grateful.

Looking forward to get involved Hi - I am certainly glad to discover this. cool job!
an error on your website I just typed my family surname into your site and came to my suprise that with my late mother-in-laws name is also my very much alive husbands, Maxwell Nikita Rak, I would appreciate it if you would kindly remove his name from your website. You have him interred in the Avoca Catholic cemetery with his mother. Thank you.Christine Rak
Unfortunately you have completely misunderstood how the GPR works. It photographs grave monuments and records all names mentioned on a monument. Just because there is a name does not mean they are buried in the grave. In lots of cases it is likely that the same people will be mentioned numerous times, for instance when a number of children have died and each monument specifies the parents' names. I am happy to remove the name that has caused concern but once it is removed it is removed permanently.
Superb website Thank you for this wonderful site. I found some real treasure in here and will be volunteering to add some South African graves to the resource.
Navigation from the home page didn't work for me Entering my Family Name in the left-hand part of the home page resulted in an Error Message. Entering it in the 'find family' box at the top-right of the other pages worked correctly every time.
The error has now been fixed
Spelling error in village name "Witten by Walsham" (St Margarets) - the name is actually Witton. The near village is currently mapped as Witton Bridge. Referring to it by its proximity to North Walsham may be valid; never heard it referred to that way by my family however (my uncle was and may still be a keyholder for the church).
The error has now been corrected.
What a wonderful resource Many thanks for providing this free service. It must be a great comfort to those unable to travel distances to see gravestones of their loved ones and others. May I also say what a prompt service this is - for free too!
Best wishes
MEMORIAL FOR Ernest George HARPER Thank you so much for you speedy response to my request for the image of
Ernest George Harper. The photograph is of excellent quality.
I really appreciate the hard work and the time you have taken to put this
site together.
Thank you once again,
Wolverhampton Wolverhampton references should be shown as Staffordshire NOT Shropshire. In 2011 it would normally be categorised as in the West Midlands but historically Staffordshire is its ancient County location and most researchers would be content with that.
Unlisted grave In front of the free-standing stone archway in the churchyard is a gravestone in patterned brick with the lettering "1895" at one end, "1915" at the other, and "RUTH" in the middle. This seems not to appear in your list. It seems to be connected with the archway, as the latter has the same sort of brick beneath it. Does anyone know who is buried here?
Biglin Thank you again for the headstone picture.
Sir John Murray Many thanks for the very clear image - saved me a journey! It's a terrific resource and I'm impressed by your dedication in running it.
headstone thank you for responding so quick with the photo,i hope to use the service again, once again thank you, p.dial

St. Matthew's Churchyard, Lightcliffe, Halifax, Yorkshire Hi - on the Yorkshire page, under 'Yorkshire cemeteries scheduled to be photographed and indexed' there is a note for the Old St. Matthew's churchyard in Halifax, but there is no volunteer name recorded. If the churchyard concerned is St. Matthew's, Lightcliffe then I would be grateful if anyone involved would get in touch with me. Many thanks. Angela

Thomas Robinson I found a photograph of a grave on this site and requested a copy. Unfortunately it did not further my research at all but the speed of reply to my request was impressive and I intend to keep a book mark for the future. I cannot supply any photographs of any Robinson graves because although I have many deaths certificates, I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve yet to find an actual grave. Maybe this is because my relatives seem to have been non conformist over a long period.
Jessie Firman Thanks for the photo of my Great Aunts headstone, this is a great service you run here, and am truly grateful.
Windsor Stiff Once again thank you for your photo.

Samuel Matthew Bolder I waited for the email, but then realised I could access the image via the website. Thank you very much. I wanted to add some genealogical detail, but found that the only way to do it was to order the image again, so that is why I requested it twice, not short-term memory loss! Thanks again.
