Baptist Church's burial ground, Bessels Green

Built in 1770 by a group headed by the Reverend John Stanger who had doctrinal differences with the general Baptist church and so split from the Unitarian Meeting House just up the road. This handsome chapel is still in regular use and little altered over 250 years. In the small graveyard can be found the graves of several ancestors of Stanger and of the early founders of the chapel. John Stanger himself is said to be buried under the floor of the chapel.

The GPR holds 58 grave and 165 person records for the burial ground.

The status of the photographing of the burial ground is believed to be complete except inside church.

There have been 48 requests for photographs from the burial ground.

The latest details for the burial ground were added on 28 September 2014
