Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

How do I move around the Graveston Photographic Resource (GPR) website?

Menus

Menus within the website are displayed within their own boxes. These boxes have a separate backgound colour (light brown) to that used by other content boxes on a page.

Whenever a mouse moves across a link within a menu box, the background colour of that link will change to a light blue.

Every page within the GPR website has a top menu which contains links to major sections of the site. Most pages also have a similar bottom menu at the end of the webpage.

Individual sections within the GPR also have their own menus which link to specific parts of that section.

Where am I? links

Below or next to the top menu on every page of the website there is a "Where am I?" link box.

This link box is coloured light yellow and contains the links that show the route of how this particular page was reached. These links can be considered as a breadcrumb trail to the current page and can be useful to find sections of the website that you did not know existed.

Links within content lists

Many GPR webpages contain lists. Typically these lists will contain information that are links to other parts of the website. They include surnames and peoples' forenames as well as cemetery, location, area and country links.

For example, if you did a search for all the names held for the surname Quartermain, you would get the following list:

full namebirth yearburial yearagecemeterycity / town / villagestate / province / countycountry
Alice Quartermain1876195377St MaryTrimley St MarySuffolkEngland
B Quartermain War MemorialWoodhillQueenslandAustralia
Francis Joseph Quartermain 1917 St MaryTrimley St MarySuffolkEngland

In the above table of results:

  • full name: link to the grave record containing that name
  • cemetery: link to that cemetery page
  • city/town/village: link to the city/town/village page which lists all the cemeteries in that location
  • state/province/county: link to the state/province/county page which lists all the locations in that area
  • country: link to the country page which lists all the areas within that country
