Unable to read date on gravestone
In the photo of the grave of James Lundie, at Scartho Road Cemetery, Grimsby, the year is 1942, the month is August, but I cannot read the exact date even by blowing up the image. Can anyone help?
James Lundie died 16 August and was buried 18 August 1942 aged 81 years.
Lincolnshire is a very lucky county with regard to free access to parish registers. Some are free online at Lincstothepast.com as scans of the original registers and also as transcriptions at FreeReg.org.uk if you can't face reading from scans of the registers!
